We invited guests to eat the themes

As a celebration of launching Christmas 2017 we invited our guests for canapés, dinner and most importantly dessert.

With coral overflowing on the tables amongst pearls and grand candelabras, the setting looked fit for a sea king.

Last month we released our 2017 Christmas party themes, and it was a huge success if we do say so ourselves. As well as our traditional Eat the Theme event, we had a Virtual Reality experience that immersed guests into next year’s themes.

100% of  clients agreed that using the Virtual Reality experience helped them visualise the themes more than a mood board would. Most also agreed that a mood board can create false promises of what the event will look like whereas the virtual reality is inspiring and gives room for the viewer to be imaginative.

“If the client isn’t too creative they may struggle to visualise elements of the mood board whereas they will understand the VR experience.” – Anna Ford, emc3

The themes for 2017 are The Lost Palace of Atlantis and Winter Glitz & Glamour. Guests sipped from glasses with edible glitter edging and ate canapés such as duck liver parfait pearls and Salmon, bonito & lemon ‘coral’ with Wasabi tobiko.

After a walk round the venue to see how we brought 2016’s themes to life, guests entered The Lost Palace of Atlantis dining room. With coral overflowing on the tables amongst pearls and grand candelabras, the setting looked fit for a sea king.

Menus came in the form of parchment paper with name tags holding the key to The Lost Palace of Atlantis.

Dinner proceeded with a starter of queen scallop, king prawn and spinach Mornay, Bouillabaisse and lobster croute with rouille. Main course followed with slow cooked beef filet, spinach & beef ravioloni, creamed spinach & Cornish sea salad, oyster mushroom fricassee and horseradish jus.

The star of the show was the unveiling of theme number two – Winter Glitz & Glamour, which came in the form of a dessert station with an accompanying nitrogen ice cream bar. Guests oohed and aahed before digging into the sugary treats.

“The fabulous grade II listed 8 Northumberland Avenue is the ideal location for any Christmas party, a moments’ walk from Trafalgar Square, in the centre of London.” – Miss Jones PA
