Ten Years of Christmas, Designed with Syndicut
As part of our 10 Years of Christmas at 8 Northumberland Avenue celebrations, we’re shining a light on the partnership that has helped bring our Christmas concepts to life over the past decade.
For the last ten years, we’ve worked alongside the creative minds at Syndicut to create over 20 original Christmas concepts, developing the visual identities and creative direction that help bring each season to life. To mark the occasion, we’ve brought them all together in one short film, celebrating a decade of creativity and unforgettable festive experiences.
The Partnership
Some partnerships last because they work. Others last because they become part of the process.
For the past ten years, Syndicut has been part of the creative journey behind Christmas at 8 Northumberland Avenue. Together, we’ve developed twenty themes, each one starting as an idea and evolving into a complete visual world.
What makes the partnership special isn’t just the work that’s been created, but the shared understanding built over a decade of collaboration. An understanding of the venue, the audience and the ambition behind every new theme.
The result is a body of work that spans ten years, twenty themes and countless festive celebrations.
From idea to concept
Here’s the part guests never see.
Every Christmas theme starts with a conversation, a title, a mood board. Sometimes it’s simply a feeling we want guests to experience. From there, we work closely with Syndicut to develop the creative direction, exploring ideas, refining concepts and shaping the visual identity that will define the season.
The process typically unfolds over several weeks. Some themes arrive almost fully formed from the very first concept. Others evolve through multiple iterations before we land on the final creative direction.
What makes the collaboration work is the shared understanding built over ten years. Syndicut understands our venue, our audience and the level of detail we expect. They know when to challenge an idea, when to push it further and when we’ve found the concept that captures exactly what we’re trying to create.
Today, the process feels less like briefing an agency and more like working with an extension of our own team.
Evolving year on year
In the early years, the creative output was a single sales visual. Today, it’s an entire campaign ecosystem: concept presentations, animation, websites, social content and the visual storytelling that introduces each Christmas season.
As technology has evolved, so has the ambition. Yet one principle has remained unchanged: no two Christmases are ever the same.
The variety is the tradition.
Each year brings a new story, a new visual world and a new experience for guests to discover. It’s what keeps Christmas at 8 Northumberland Avenue fresh, year after year.
From screen to space
The creative journey doesn’t end when the artwork is approved.
Every visual identity becomes the blueprint for the experience itself. The colours, atmosphere, details and storytelling developed during the creative process go on to influence how each theme is brought to life within the venue.
Working alongside our creative event managers, production, lighting and styling teams, the creative vision is translated from screen to space, ensuring that the world guests see in the campaign is the same world they step into on the night.
It’s what makes the experience feel seamless. The campaign doesn’t simply promote the event; it becomes the event.
Here’s to the next ten
A decade of Christmas. A decade of design. A decade of turning ideas into worlds, together.
We can’t wait to show you what the next ten look like and there’s only one way to experience a world like this properly, and that’s from the inside.
