Part 3 of 3: How to add the finishing touches

Hayley, our resident bride-to-be gives her tips for those all important finishing touches.

Instead of signing a guest book, use a large jar and supplier paper and pens to create a ‘memory jar’.

Event Planning & Strategy

A lot of effort goes into organising the large aspects of your special day – the wedding venue in central London, the food, the guest list, the photographer and the dress.

Once the ceremony has finished, the guests can relax at the reception and there’s time to absorb the lovely finishing touches all around them. It’s often these tiny details that tie the entire day together.

We’ve brought together some of our favourite and most on-trend ideas for finishing touches for your wedding.

Wedding table decoration ideas

Your guests will spend most of the reception at their tables for a meal. It makes sense to spend some time organising little surprises for them to discover while they are there. If you have found a great wedding venue in central London, they may already have some ideas they can arrange as part of your package.

Wedding table and place setting ideas:

– Themed table wear is huge at the moment with beautiful plates, bowls and even cutlery. Step away from the traditional white plates and wow your guests with delicate patterns, crazy colours and unusual shapes.

– Here at our wedding venue in central London, we are huge fans of pairing copper with organic and rustic features. Fill copper terrariums with cacti and other interesting plants and lay them amongst vines of leaves and logs on your tables

– Looking for a theme with more colour and fun? Tropical is a popular theme this summer so think poolside, bright pinks and oranges and of course flamingos!

– For a personal touch add photo trees as your table centres and hang a photograph of you and/or the groom with each of the guests on the table

The shared details

There are moments during a wedding and reception that are shared by everyone present. You can get a little creative to arrange some beautifully coordinated moments that both you and your guests will love:

– Create your own confetti baskets for guests to use. A beautiful effect can be created using delicate dried flower petals in sweet paper baskets, for example. As you and the guests walk over the confetti a subtle fragrance will be released

– If you have children attending, put together an activity pack for them to keep them entertained especially through speeches. Parents will be extremely grateful!

– Instead of signing a guest book, use a large jar and supplier paper and pens to create a ‘memory jar’. Ask each guest to write down a memory they have with you and your groom so you can reminisce together in later years

– We know it’s hard to spend quality time with every person so give each table a disposable camera for them to take pictures throughout the reception so you can look back on anything you feel you may have missed.
