Specsavers’ Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards 2015
Specsavers held their 2015 Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards at 8 Northumberland Avenue for the second year in a row. The star-studded event was held in association with Kidscape, the anti-bullying charity, and featured Emma Bunton as the awards ambassador.

Was the venue’s location an important aspect of your event?
“Yes, being right on Trafalgar Square eases the journey for attendees and adds buzz to the event.”
8 Northumberland Avenue’s central London location made travel arrangements easy for celebrities and the media. The venue’s position also meant that it was possible to transport and install a large amount of AV equipment within the event spaces. Having access to the hotel directly next door was an added convenience for such a sizable undertaking.
Was the style of the venue a key factor for your event?
“We wanted an iconic and stylish venue for our fashion event that would add glitz and glamour, and the ballroom certainly ticked these boxes.”
Achieving Success
According to our client, the Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards was a huge success. The event was highly engaging, with AlchemyLive’s food receiving raving reviews and nearly 200 guests attending the after-party. Ending at 2am, the awards show also included a bespoke glasses theme for canapés and staff as well as gourmet sweet and cheese stations. Fifteen different companies worked together to pull off this event, and it came together beautifully. Here’s to next year’s Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards!
